Team Velo Girls has been leading rides at Arastradero Open Space Preserve for years. We are continuing the tradition again this year with our weekly Monday evening rides.
The trails at Arastradero are mostly single track plus a few gravel fire roads that traverse under shady trees and across open meadows. Our typical route includes Meadowlark, Acorn, Woodrat, the Bowls, and Woodland Star. (map) Along this route, we will have the opportunity to practice a few switchbacks, some short climbs and descents, and “the bowls” which are optional.
Arastradero is a fantastic place for beginners to practice skills and intermediates to further develop or recover after a hard weekend ride. This is a BEGINNER level ride. If you are unsure of your level, check our list here.
Women of all ages are welcome to join! Mountain bikes are recommended, however, hybrids and cyclo-cross bikes are ok here, too. Knobby tires help with the gravel and dry dusty trail conditions. Helmet and water are required, snacks are recommended.
Parking in the main lot occasionally fills up – find additional parking along the street (Arastradero / Page Mill) or at the park and ride (Page Mill / 280).
Bathrooms and water are available at the park.
We look forward to riding with you!
