Dirty Velo Girls Mountain Bike Ride – Waterdog (Belmont)

Waterdog Lake Park in Belmont is a small park that packs a punch with a variety of trails and terrain to play on.  This is a Beginner to Early Intermediate level ride designed for riders to challenge themselves and build on and develop technical skills.  Not sure of your level?  Check here.  *Note: this is not a ride for Novices.

We will start out with a gentle fire road climb up to the top of the park to warm up our legs.  We will roll along the John Brooks Trail which features some short steep sections and some beautiful scenic vistas.  The trails continue weaving in and out of the trees with ample opportunity for practicing rolling over obstacles, bridges, switchbacks, and other fun technical goodies.  We typically ride Rambler, Finch, and Canyon Creek.  Then either Elevator to Chaparral or Chaparral to Ohlone before heading back to over to Berry and completing the Lake Loop at the end.  Trail choices will depend on the group, however.

We meet at the road entrance at the intersection of Lyall and Lake roads:  there is ample street parking….. however there are NO restrooms or water so please plan ahead.

You will need a mountain bike in good working condition, helmet, and water.  ALSO:  we recommend using flat pedals and bringing along some snacks, too!

Rain cancels the ride.  Check back here if that looks like a possibility.

Questions?  Carpool?  Post below!

Hope to see y’all out there!
