MTB Night Ride: Coyote Hills

Love mountain biking but sad it’s dark after work?  Wanna try something new?  Join us for a mountain bike ride … at NIGHT!

Coyote Hills is easily accessible, right next to the Dumbarton Bridge in Fremont, and part of the East Bay Regional Park system.  Trails in the east bay are open until 10 pm.  The parking lot inside the park closes at 6 pm, but there is plenty of parking just outside the entrance in the dirt lot.

We will be riding all of the bike-friendly trails in this beautiful park, about 10-12 miles total.  The trails are mostly flat and vary from paved to fire road to a few single tracks.  Coyote Hills is a safe, fun place with gorgeous bay views to try out mountain biking at night!

This is a no-drop, “beginner-friendly” ride.  You should have knowledge of trail riding and be comfortable riding for 1.5-2 hours – but beginner level technical skills are fine.

All women are welcome to join – you will need a bike in good working condition, helmet, water, and snacks.  LIGHTS are required.  You may consider a two light system – bar light and helmet light.  Mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes, singlespeeds, hybrids = all are great on these trails!

Rain cancels the ride – please check back here for info if this looks to be the case. Trails at Coyote Hills remain very rideable after rain – but we’d rather not ride while it’s raining at night.

We hope you can join us!  This is a great way to continue mountain biking through the winter months – and a fun way to level up your mountain biking skills.
